British Fencing and Filton College have entered into a partnership to provide a world-class training environment for fencers aged 16-19. With a dedicated fencing salle on the WISE campus in Stoke Gifford this will be the hub for the British Fencing National Academy, South West. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional/coach to become a part of this partnership.

Fencers will be full-time students at Filton College and will be enrolled as an Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE). The College will offer students who have achieved the necessary performance and educational requirements at least 16 hours fencing related study per week during term-time.

Working with the Director of Indoor Academies the successful postholder will undertake the management of student recruitment on to the programme, ensure a successful programme delivery, assess and report on sporting and academic achievements to all interested parties across the college and external bodies.

Applicants will be on the British Fencing coaches register and have appropriate qualifications (level 3 or above) and will hold or be willing to work towards an Assessor or Verifier qualification. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and creative Health and Social Care Lecturer, this post is full time maternity cover until end of academic year but more permanent opportunities may arise in the future.

Candidates must have a proven track record of teaching to a high standard and adopt a student centred approach. Experience of teaching a subject relevant to Health and Social Care is essential as is a willingness to teach students with a range of abilities and learning styles.

We welcome applications from specialists in psychology, sociology, human physiology or science who feel they are able to apply their knowledge to health and/or care. Relevant vocational experience in the sector is desirable.

We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with a strong commitment to customer service.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the timely resolution of calls logged to the College Helpdesk, for organising planned maintenance, specifying and ordering equipment.

The post holder will work closely with the Network Manager in the maintenance of networked services and College infrastructure and line manage two IT Technicians. A level 4 ICT qualification or equivalent experience, together with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills is essential.

You will play an active role in improving and maintaining the grounds at main site, the day to day running of a small garden and assist staff in the delivery of various Horticultural courses. You will be in charge of a large greenhouse and poly-tunnel where students will grow vegetables and flowers for assessments and sale.
There will be a requirement to work flexibly and weekends.

Lecturers undertake an annual teaching workload, monitor student progress and participate in curriculum development, including identification of consumer requirements. Candidates will hold or be willing to work towards a PGCE or equivalent.

We are looking to appoint creative and dynamic subject specialists in English for September 2010.

Applicants will have experience of teaching up to Level 3.
